304 stainless steel is the standard name in the United States, and SUS304 is the Japanese name. China is used to calling the elements directly, so China is used to calling: 0Cr18Ni9.

The mechanism of stainless steel rust prevention is that alloy elements form a dense oxide film, which isolates oxygen from contacting and prevents continued oxidation. Therefore, stainless steel does not rust, but rust takes a longer time.

The reasons for the rust of 304 material are as follows:

1. Chloride ions exist in the operating environment.

2. There is no solid-melting treatment.

3. The material does not contain titanium and niobium, which has a natural tendency to intergranular corrosion.
